Italian Creativity from an International Perspective

Rather than use a traditional folder with typical corporate illustrations as one would expect from a Reinsurance Broker, we decided to make use of the painting "Canestro di Frutta" by one of the most famous Italian Masters, Caravaggio. Why? Because we are of the opinion that the creative forces that combined to produce such a dazzling display of wealth and talent during and after the Renaissance may still be found in contemporary Italy -
evidence Italian style for example - and we believe that the R.I.B.
Group represents this time honoured characteristic in the field of reinsurance and risk transfer. Indeed, while keeping - in an insurance context - with an historical and cultural theme, it is interesting to note (as any good actuarial student will tell you) that it was the legendary Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci who, in the 13th century, introduced Arabian mathematical science to Europe, and it is Fibonacci's numerical sequencethat forms the

basis of actuarial calculation.
